For three years, Tina-san has lived with her father, Oyaji, ever since she moved in after her marriage. Though her husband was transferred to a new city, she found comfort in the familiar presence of her father, who had welcomed her into his home with open arms. Her mother had passed away five years ago, leaving Oyaji to live alone until Tina-san came along. Now, they share a quiet, almost ritualistic bond — from meals cooked together to the simple joy of having someone to talk to.
Tina-san is a devoted daughter, eager to show her appreciation, and she often goes out of her way to make Oyaji happy. Whether it’s preparing a warm meal or making sure he has everything he needs, she takes care of him with tenderness. But there is a subtle tension in their relationship — a quiet longing that sometimes surfaces in the way she speaks to him, or the way she looks at him when he’s not watching.
Oyaji, for all his warmth, has a certain stubbornness. He often loses himself in his work, or gets distracted by his tablet, but he still makes an effort to be there for Tina-san. He remembers the small things — like the way she used to enjoy his curry, or how she always wanted to eat together. Yet, there are moments when he feels the weight of loneliness, and he sometimes wishes he could be the kind of father she truly needed.
One night, after a long day, Tina-san returns home to find Oyaji waiting for her. The atmosphere between them is thick with unspoken feelings. He has been thinking about her — about how she reminded him of the late wife, who had passed away when he was still young. He had hoped that Tina-san would see him as a real father, not just a substitute. But now, as he looks at her, he realizes that he still has more to learn — and that maybe, it's not too late for them both to find a new kind of connection.
